Aesclepius Practice

Hey Bloggers,

During this week I practiced the Meeting Aesclepius four times, doing it twice a day. I feel like this particular practice takes time to get used to. The first time I listened to it I thought that it was kind of out there for me, but the more practiced the more understood. I think that the Meeting Aeclepius practice is something which you have to have an open imagination and mind about. I believe that mindfulness and meditation increase my psychological wellness by allowing other opportunities into my life then just environmental aspects. In order to continue applying these practices is to schedule a time that can be just for me to relax and work on training my brain. The saying, “one cannot lead another were one has not gone himself” meaning that if there is not personal experience with what one is teaching, then there will be a void when educating it. This apply's to a wellness professional by suggesting that you can not understand and track a clients progress of the mind, body and spirit if you have not practiced yourself. I feel like there is an obligation to patients to keep up with flourishing health because everyone goes through human flourishing in different ways, if you are not experienced and educated on the signs then there may be signs that would not be picked up. The way to implement psychological and spiritual growth into my personal life would be using Loving-kindness, Subtle mind and meditation practices in order to work daily on training my brain to consciously be opened. Hope to hear from yal!

Focus Of Growth and Development

Hey Bloggers,

During the universal loving-kindness meditation I felt like there was a lot of different people I have known throughout my life that I found myself thinking about, randomly popping up in my memories. Even people I do not keep in contact with anymore. This is what I discovered about myself is that things and people I did not think I cared about anymore, suddenly I wished for them happiness, joy and safety. The area that I chose is worldly to focus and develop, because consistently I feel like I am a small speck in the world at times it is very intimidating and gives me a feeling of helplessness. The activities I feel that can be implemented to foster greater wellness can be volunteering and assisting at centers for people less fortunate, those who do not have the time to worry about being a speck but where their next meal will come from. Trying to be more apart of the wold to feel alive, instead of being a shadow. Hope to hear from yal!

Subtle Mind

Hey Bloggers,

I honestly feel that this weeks listening exercise was a big impact for me in my life this week. With everything that is going on during the day like work, practice, working out and homework I believe that the subtle mind exercise was perfect. The subtle mind exercise was very unique allowing the listener to train their brain in order to block out grasping distractions. The loving kindness exercise was more about emotional connection with people, enemies or not. Also you were to feel the hurt of others, which is a hard concept to establish. Both are wonderful exercises, however I do believe that the subtle mind was harder for me to pay attention to and outside distractions were easier to get in. I think that the subtle mind will be one that I will incorporate in my daily routine to balance my mind, body and spiritual wellness. I can not believe the peace of mind that can be felt if you have fully trained your brain to focus on the silence. When practicing the loving kindness I feel that it was a little deep for my comfort level a times. I do not like a cry nor really get overly drastic towards any emotion, except for being happy. However, the exercise brought up very strong emotions in which I believe I do need to work on, for that I believe I would use this exercise. The connection of the spiritual wellness to mental and physical wellness means that without all three in balance and peace there will not be full flourishing towards life. The body is connected by its muscles, emotions and thoughts, which all bind together. Spiritual wellness allows the mind and the body the have charge, hope and the will to keep going. The mind is not worth being if it is not in good thoughts and a peaceful state, just like the body is not worth being if it is not energetic and ready to be. Spirituality allows for stress levels to go down and negative emotions to decrease, leaving a flourishing state and total mind, body and spirit control. I really enjoyed this week, excited to hear back.
