My Physical, Spiritual and Psychological Well-Being

Hey Blog Readers,

This week has been hectic for me from work, school, inner battles and more, but this unit has helped me to work some of these activities out. I would give my physical well being a score of 8 because I frequently exercise and practice good physical health. My daily routine consistently works out my physical being and I am always working to make it better. My spiritual well being is given a score of 4 explaining that this aspect of my life has fallen severely in the past few years, my hope was gone and I did not know were to find it or who to find it in. I feel that I run from spiritual well being and the answer of why is a mystery to me, but I am working to make it stronger. For psychological well being I would give myself a score of 6 because it is not one of my strong suits either. I feel sometimes the second everything is in the right spot or state there is always something else that comes along to confuse it and occasionally do not get it back.

My goal for physical well being is to focus on my physical self while being aware of the spiritual and psychological aspects as well. Also incorporating exercises that are relaxing and therapeutic to the body. My goal for spiritual well being is to start going back to my roots and allowing something that is bigger then life give my hope back and assist in the future. Finally my goal for psychological well being is to challenge myself on a daily basis, to learn and love as many things I can find until there is no longer anything left. An exercise for physical well being for me to work on would be yoga. Spiritual well being would be through prayer, meditation and love-kindness preparations and psychological well being exercises would be visual imagery and skillful actions.

The Crime of the Century helped me to relax and keep still, however it was very frustrating to me that my images would fade quickly. I could imagine the color of the rainbow and spot that is was describing, but only for a minute and then it was gone. It was beneficial to me because my mind was very scattered before the exercise and after it relaxed, open and ready for a new experience.

  1. Stephanie,

I thought that this weeks blog discussion was indeed very interesting, because it allowed us to view ourselves within a different perspective. I think it is a harder task when we have to be truly honest within ourselves and even harder to rate ourselves and reveal what we are lacking in, but the positive is that it allows us to realize what we are lacking in, because strength is made perfect within our weakness. And gives an opportunity to address and develop ourselves into a loving, kind, human being. I thought that was a great way to put it just as you stated within the aspect of your spiritual well-being, I think that is a great goal. Living your live to love, in stead of negativity.

  2. I am aware of how frustrating it can be when you are trying to focus and the vision disappears. Just keep trying. I am glad that you were able to relax though. That is the start. As I was going through the exercise I was also remembering the Chakras of the body. There is a way to check and make sure your chakras are open and it may help. I have to get back to eating right and my yoga routine. I have decided to take up belly dancing as well to help. I have heard it is really good exercise.

  3. Hi Stephanie,

I too enjoyed reading your blog. You seem to be on the right track and are working hard at accomplishing your task at hand. Life is a journey and it is what we do with the journey that makes the differences. Stay positive and know what you want out of your life and be true to you and you will get there.
